Fotorie was not made by a software company that one day decided to get into nutrition. It is made by Vitasane, a network of nutrition centers in Seville that has been sitting people in front of a nutritionist since 2012. The app is the way to carry that work in your pocket, every day, with an AI coach trained with the criteria of that consultation.
Vitasane, nutrition centers
Vitasane was born in January 2012 in Dos Hermanas (Seville) as a nutrition center authorized by the Ministry of Health of the Junta de Andalucía, with a simple idea: that eating well is not a punishment, but a way of living with more energy and fewer health problems. Today it is a team of nutritionists and dietitians with centers in Dos Hermanas, Seville, Mairena del Alcor, Carmona and Aljarafe, and thousands of personalized plans under their belt: weight loss, sports nutrition, hormonal health, menopause, pregnancy, digestive and metabolic pathologies.
That is the criterion within Fotorie. The calorie floors that the app does not allow to cross, the way to distribute proteins, carbohydrates and fats according to the objective, the special care in pregnancy and lactation, the prudence with medication and tension: everything comes from what is done every day in consultation, not from an internet table.

Carlos Palomo is the founder and director of Vitasane. A nutritionist specializing in sports nutrition and metabolism, he leads the team at the centers and sets Fotorie’s nutritional approach: what the coach recommends, what they should never recommend, and how to talk to someone who wants to change their habits without feeling judged.
His motivation is personal. As a child, he suffered from morbid obesity, and that experience is what drives him to accompany each patient to transform their way of eating and living: if he could, anyone can. That same idea is in Fotorie’s tone, which celebrates what you do well and doesn’t scold you for a blank day.
What Fotorie is and what it is not
- It is an app to keep track of your diet, exercise, and habits, with an artificial intelligence coach who knows your data and accompanies you.
- The coach’s advice is generated by AI with Vitasane’s criteria; it does not replace a consultation with a nutritionist or your doctor.
- Your data is encrypted and stored on servers in the European Union, and you can delete it whenever you want from the app.
- If you want a plan with in-person follow-up, Vitasane centers will assist you in Seville.
